Having issues/problems in life? Don’t worry, we all do!

What do you do to solve them? Some consult family or friends, some are looking for professional help and some might even choose to just run away. This topic is brought up every now and then and probably you once read about or even attended a “Problem Solving Techniques” course.

You know, Muslims do all that as well, but they have some other ‘Magical’ solution if I may say! In Sunnah (The traditions of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him), He taught us how to deal with every single situation in life especially the challenges.

At the time of hardship, you probably say some prayers or even spells that you believe will help you. Many people do this regardless of what religion they follow, this is something is that so natural that you just feel you need to do.

In so many situations, he taught us through his companions to seek help from Allah and then to say some duaa (supplication) to overcome hard times like depression, sadness or anxiety.

Let’s check some examples…

Having care and debt?

Narrated Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (one of the Prophet’s companions):

One day the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) entered the mosque. He saw there a man from the Ansar called AbuUmamah. He said: What is the matter that I am seeing you sitting in the mosque when there is no time of prayer?

He said: I am entangled in cares and debts, Messenger of Allah.

He replied: Shall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will remove your care, and settle your debt?

He said: Why not, Messenger of Allah?

He said: Say in the morning and evening: “O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from care and grief, I seek refuge in Thee from incapacity and slackness, I seek refuge in Thee from cowardice and niggardliness, and I seek in Thee from being overcome by debt and being put in subjection by men.”

He said: When I did that Allah removed my care and settled my debt. [Abu Dawud]

Not feeling well?

Simply recite Al Fatihah (Chapter 1). [Muslim].

Having children whom you want to protect?

Say, “I seek refuge for you in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and every poisonous thing and from the evil eye which influences.” [Abu Dawud]

Really feeling confused whether to do something or not?

Say the supplication of seeking Allah’s counsel. [Al Bukhari].

And this one is my favorite 😉

Facing something difficult? It seems like going nowhere? Just utter the following words and enjoy seeing how things get better and easier:

“O Allah, there is no ease other than what You make easy. If You please You ease sorrow.” [Ibn Hibban]

And more and more.
