#Beyoncé asked Who Run The World? Girls
But let’s ask ourselves
“Who RUNS the Girls? ”
Everyone has an ideal beauty they’re trying to achieve, and that’s true for women across the globe. From the use of bird feces in a facial to inserting metal rods in their legs to be taller, women all over the world are willing to do some pretty crazy (and intense) things to feel better about their appearance.
But the question is: What is the definition of Beauty?
The answer is that beauty standards vary from one country to another, it even varies in the same country year after year!
let’s have a tour to see beauty traditions and ideals around the #world!
# The United States
In the U.S. they look to models and celebrities for their standards of beauty. They are usually tall, thin, blonde and elegant. and because so many different kinds of people live in the United States, they find beauty in all types. From Bar Refaeli to Kim Kardashian, and Tyra Banks to Jennifer Lopez, #beauty in this country is found in all colors and sizes. But they all have some things in common—they are beautiful, fit, and have perfect features. Though it exists in other countries as well, a common thread in American thinking is that if you weren’t born with beauty, it can be created! they achieve this kind of beauty through dying their hair, going on crazy diets and plastic surgery.
# Thailand
In Thailand, and much of Southeast Asia, for that matter, it is difficult to find a beauty product that does not contain some kind of skin-whitening agent. In Southeast Asia, pale skin is associated with wealth, status, and beauty. Another much different view of beauty in Thailand from the Kayan tribe focuses on neck-elongation. From the time they are young, #female members of the Kayan tribe add shiny brass hoops onto their necks one at a time until they become beautiful “long-necks”.
# New Zealand
The Maori people of New Zealand have been decorating their faces with swirling blue tattoos called “moko” for centuries. Originally a sign of wealth for their ancestors, today most Maori people have moko. For #women, the ultimate sign of beauty is full, blue lips and tattoos on the chin.
