The unforgivable sine text with a tornado around the number 1

The Unforgivable Sin!

To be a human being means to err. However, there is only one unforgivable sin, no matter how

Should we err?

To be a human being means to err, for it is the way of life. God has created us fallible. we are created in this worldly life to worship God. Also, He (may He be Exalted and Glorified) has put human beings in trials to resist Satan’s whispers and insinuations, to sin, and to repent.

God “the Most Merciful” stated in Qur’an that He shall forgive all the sins if a person shows repentance to God

Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves – indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful”   [Qur’an 16:119](1)

Say,

O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah (God) . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, He, is The Ever-Forgiving, The Ever-Merciful” [Qur’an 39:50](2)

This verse gives us the hope in God’s Mercy for if commit sin then repent, God will accept our repentance.

The unforgivable sin

However, there is a one sin not to be forgiven by God, no matter how much pious, virtuous, or charitable a person is. It is Shirk (associating others with God in His Divinity or worship). To illustrate, it is to make partners to be worshiped along with God.

Shirk is the one and only sin that God does not forgive.

God says

Indeed Allah does not forgive that (anything be) with Him associated; and (anything) whatever, apart from that, He forgives to whomever He decides. And whoever associates (anything) with Allah, then he has certainly gone far astray”   [Qur’an 4:116](3)

What the heck? How come stated in the Gospel?

For a wonder, Blasphemy is also the one unforgivable sin in the Gospel.

It is stated in Mark: “Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven for their sins and whatever blasphemies they utter; 29 but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit can never have forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.”   [Mark 3:28-29]

And in Matthew:  “Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and blasphemy, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.”   [Matthew 12:31-32]

It is also mentioned in Luke : “And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.”  [Luke 12:10]

In the “Merriam Webster” dictionary blasphemy is defined as: the act of claiming the attributes of a deity for a mere man to suggest that he was divine could only be viewed … as blasphemy ~ John Bright -1889.

Thus, it is obvious that the Blasphemy is also prohibited in the Gospel.

Where is the truth then?

The bare truth is that the Uniqueness of God is the mission of all Prophets and Messengers at all times in all scriptures, starting from the Bible and ending to the Qur’an. Denying this is the unforgivable sin.

The truth -my friend- is that both the Old and the New Testament have been distorted by Christians at the beginnings of the Christian era during the fifth century under the doctrine of the Roman Empire. You can find out more about this issue through surfing the Internet and reading more books about Arius(4) and His Call during the Constantine’s Regime.

My friend, if you really are a seeker for truth, then you should strive hard to attain it. As a result, you will achieve the true happiness and peace of mind that you are yearning for.
