Is the Gospel of Matthew a universal message that is capable of being sent to all mankind? Can we judge it as a mercy to the whole universe? If so, how could it be substituted, amended and changed if it is so called a Divine guidance!

What is the role of writing in preserving the Divine Revelation? (I do not understand what the author means) Hope all these rhetorical questions open your eyes and encourage you to increase your knowledge seeking the right path.

Who is the Author of the Bible?

The Bible is a collection of religious texts that has been written by many authors over a period of many centuries. Most of the books of the Bible’s authors are unknown. In addition, the first four books of the New Testament, the Gospels, describe the life and teachings of the Prophet Jesus Christ. It is traditionally believed that the authors of them are to be: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Who Wrote the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible?

Some commentators said that the author of the Gospel of Matthew is Matthew Alias Levi who was a Customs Officer. In fact, the author’s exact name is unknown, yet, he can be recognized by his profession through the style of his context writing. For example, he is well-versed in Jewish writings and traditions, thus, claiming that the author is a Customs Officer is not accurate. If the Gospels are anonymous, so how can we identify who wrote them? In fact, the question of “Who really wrote the Gospel of Matthew?” has no model answer.

The Gospel According to Matthew:

This phrase “The Gospel according to Matthew” which I read in the book of Maurice Bucaille makes me think how a book which is supposed to be sacred is written according to a human’s perspective! A number of Christian commentators justified the errors, improbabilities and contradictions in the Bible by claiming that the Biblical authors expressed ideas in accordance with contemporary social, cultural, and political factors.

Has the Gospel of Matthew been written First?

The four canonical gospels are Matthew’s, Mark’s, Luke’s, and John’s. It is found that the Gospel of Matthew is the first one of them as they appear in the New Testament.  The question is: why has it been placed before Mark’s despite it being stated that Mark’s is older?!

Who is the Gospel of Matthew written to?

Matthew’s Gospel is written for Jewish Christians. It is obvious that Matthew has constantly referred to some quotations from the Old Testament. This highlights the claim that Jesus has come to fulfill the message of the Jews, and his message was not a universal one as they presume.

When was the Gospel of Matthew written?

Although the exact date is unknown, it is traditionally attributed that theThe Gospel of Matthew has been written around 70 CE.

The Origin of the Bible:

Before being collected in books, The Bible consists of folk traditions including songs and stories. After settling in Canaan at the end of the thirteenth century B.C., the Jewish people preserved their traditions through writing.

1. A Divine Book That Has Been Modified by a Man!

How for a seventh century text to reach us unaltered? The reason is simple. The Quran was written down at the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). On the contrary, the writers of the Gospels were not eyewitnesses of Jesus.

For the Old Testament and the Gospels, alterations and human changes interfered and added to the Gospels today in hand before reaching us in their final form.

2. The Role of Writing for Preserving Divine Revelations

Hamidullah, a French professor, notes in the Introduction to his French Translation of the Meanings of the Quran that one of the themes of the first verses revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from Allah via the Archangel Gabriel was “The praise of the pen as a mean of human knowledge”. This theme explains how writing is one of the best ways for preserving Divine Revelations. Nevertheless.

Allah Almighty said: “It is certainly We Who have revealed the Quran, and it is certainly We Who will preserve it.”

(Quran-15:9).

Searching For the Truth?

It is unusual to have different versions of the same event but contradicted. How can we trust it as historical facts as we know about different stories of different nations while having all these doubts about? Can science facts contradict religion? Throughout the Bible we can see that there are clear contradictions. These contradictions are due to having human elements in writing Divine Contexts. On the other hand, no one can find any contradictions if he truly reflects on the Quranic text, as it is a pure Divine Revelation with which the whole of mankind can find harmony and tranquility. This preserved Divine Revelation reclaims hearts, enlightens minds, and clearly opens eyes. You can find through it the answers to all your unanswered questions, and you will be able to refute all your doubts.

Divine Guidance:

Have you ever read a book that has been written by an unknown author?

Do you know who wrote the Bible? Do you know the real author of the Quran?

A Human element in writing a context is that this context is not infallible. What about finding a religious book that its context seems to have a human element?!

We all know that mankind is not able to live without Divine guidance. Our Lord, The Creator, is the One who knows the best for us, therefore He sent us a universal message.
