SUMMARY:

Islam teaches belief in the unseen, affirming that God created both angels and demons as part of His visible and invisible creation.

God Almighty is the Creator of every visible and invisible creature. We Muslims believe in the unseen, so we believe that demons exist, as we believe that angels exist too.

Let’s learn some authentic evidence proving that God Almighty created demons.

Did God Create Demons?

Yes, God Almighty created demons, as He is the Creator of everything. Muslims believe in the unseen as described in the Quran and Sunnah. Muslims do not believe in the existence of aliens or ghosts, but do believe in angels and demons as invisible creatures, by divine wisdom. In Islam, we do not have to see to believe. Let’s learn who the demons are by examining some evidence from the Quran and Sunnah.

Who Are Demons?

Demons are not fallen angels, as Christians believe. They were made from fire, while the angels were created from light. They have free will, unlike the angels.

God Almighty created demons before Adam. Jinn can be divided into good and evil. The good jinns are the Muslims, while the evil jinns are referred to as demons who are the devil’s soldiers. Some of them chose to worship God , while others chose to rebel.

Quran highlights Demons’ Creation of Fire

Iblis is the father of all demons. Being created from a scorching fire, this proves that all the demons are also created from the same thing.

God Almighty quoted the father of demons as saying:

“He (Satan) said, “I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him (i.e. Aadam) from clay.”

[The Quran, 38:76]

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) also stated that Jinn were created from fire.

God Created demons to worship Him

God Almighty created demons for worship. He Almighty says in the Quran:

“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”

[The Quran, 51:56]

Demons Have Special Abilities as Part of Life Test

God Almighty gave them more abilities than us as a test for both humans and demons. He Almighty, describes them saying:

He (Satan) and his tribe see you from where you do not see them.

[The Quran, 7:27]

Conclusion

God Almighty created demons before Adam. They are not fallen angels but different creatures. Don’t you believe in ghosts or aliens without any clear evidence?

Following the Islamic perspective highlighted in the Quran and Prophetic traditions, we can learn more about the realm of demons and how to be saved from them by being close to God Almighty, the Protector.
